a peek inside the creative process

abstract watercolor paintings are my bread and butter. each original piece is painted on high quality, cold pressed watercolor paper.

the technique used here is known as wet on wet. by delicately sprinkling salt across the wet pigments, a pattern emerges as the piece dries.

the result are bursts, swirls and splotches of color that look like a funky science experiment each time.

since we use kosher salt, you may notice some texture on your original art piece. the raised crystals add a cool dimension when displayed in natural light.

you can carefully brush off any unwanted texture from your piece. be aware this may slightly alter the look and feel of the work.
